Lahaina Dining

The best dining in Lahaina, in our humble opinion, is listed right here! Lahaina's restaurants offer a diverse selection of relaxed, casual dining to gourmet fine dining. From ocean view to local favorite, we've tried and tasted Lahaina's best dining.

Lahaina Coffee Shops

Maui Grown Coffee
Under the towering old Pioneer Inn Mill smokestack and adjacent the grounds of the international craft fair and marketplace is a cute little coffee shop. You can feel good supporting locally grown coffee from the northern Ka'anapali Coffee Plantation (currently being parceled and sold as high-end plantation homes with coffee acreage! Want to own the farm?) while relaxing on the porch of this tiny, traditional green cottage. Closed on Sundays.
277 Lahainaluna Road, Phone (808) 661-3158.

Livewire Cafe
A hip internet coffee house right on Front Street that also serves up breakfast bagels. Rotates original art on the walls, cool stuff to look at.
612 Front Street, Phone (808) 661-4213

Sir Wilfred's
At Whalers Village in Ka'anapali, this local coffee shop is a purveyor of fine coffee, cigars and more.
Phone (808) 667-1941

Breakfast in Lahaina

Lahaina Coolers
Open, breezing seating creates a pleasant atmosphere for a traditional breakfast offering.
180 Dickenson Street, Phone (808) 661-7082

Pioneer Inn Bar and Grill
Great harbor-side historic building and serves up a mighty good breakfast that any sailor would love!
685 Wharf Street, Phone (808) 661-3636

Longhi's
A Lahaina tradition. The best hollandaise sauce in town.
888 Front Street, Phone (808) 667-2288

Lahaina's Casual Dining

Take Home Maui
Deli sandwiches, salads, pastries, chips and cold drinks. This is the place to buy and ship local Maui products from pineapples, bags of onions to taro chips. A talking bird on the front porch will greet you, not always nicely.
121 Dickenson Street, Phone (808) 545-6284.

Cheeseburger in Paradise
Not owned by Jimmy Buffet but still a wacky, fun-themed dining destination for a delectable cheeseburger. Right on the water with live music in the evenings. Waiting diners queue up along the boardwalk as seating is first come first serve.
811 Front Street, Phone (808) 667-4341

Gabby's Pizzeria
Gabby himself is usually present at this open, relaxed pizza joint. Great place for cold beer and hot pizza. Juke box and pool tables.
505 Front Street, Phone (808) 661-8112

Thai Chef
Authentic Thai food, spicy if requested. Popular with locals. Limited hours for lunch and dinner. Located in the Lahaina Shopping Center across from the Maui Theatre.
Phone (808) 667-2814

Compadres Mexican Bar & Grill.
Taco Tuesdays in the early evening are the rage with $1 tacos and a packed scene of the younger surfer type. Tacos usually run out by 7 pm. Any other night, Compardes makes for a comfortable Mexican experience with comfy booths, some outdoor seating and typical, yummy dishes heavy on the cheese. Located in the Lahaina Cannery Mall.
Phone: (808) 661-7189

Maui Tacos
Cheap eats with organic, local ingredients made fresh. Take out, fast food style in the shopping center by Ace Hardware. The walls are plastered with pictures of the Chef and various celebrities.
840 Wainee Street, Phone (808) 661-8883

Penne Pasta Cafe
Counter ordering with the same concept as Maui Tacos, and the same owner. The thin crust pizzas are delicious and there is ample, comfortable seating inside and out.
180 Dickenson Street, Phone (808) 661-6633

Lahaina's Fine-Dining

David Paul's Lahaina Grill
Not your typical Hawaii venue, this posh, upscale restaurant offers escargot, delectable salads, steaks, fresh island fish and lovely ambiance. With an established reputation, reservations are the only sure way to get a seat.
127 Lahainaluna Road, Phone (808) 667-5117.

Gerard's
Ah, romance! A lovely, garden setting and plantation-style home create a splendid backdrop for memorable dining.
174 Lahainaluna Road, Phone (808) 661-8939

Lahaina's Ocean View Dining

Pacific'O
A location fit for kings, right on the beach, competes with artful Pacific Rim cuisine prepared from organic, locally grown produce. Ask about their special farm tour!
505 Front Street, Phone (808) 667-4341.

Mala Ocean Tavern
Side by side surf shops right on top of the ocean's break, this delicious and creative diner has sleek style and superb cocktails. Tapa plates allow the local chef (owner of Penne Pasta and Maui Tacos) to really strut his stuff.
1307 Front Street, Phone 808-667-9394.

Lahaina Store Oyster Bar & Grille
The best views in town, where a panoramic rooftop complete with fountains and shaded tables entertains the West Maui Mountains, the hustle bustle of Front Street and wide sweeping ocean sunsets. The food is pretty good too! The service is, unfortunately, inconsistent but even if your entrée takes a while to reach your table, your in a setting to calm any savage beast.
744 Front Street, Second Floor, Phone 808-661-9090.

Local Lahaina Grinds

Old Lahaina Luau
Not a restaurant but a whole dinner show that takes places in a tropically landscaped paradise on the ocean. Authentic in Hawaiian customs, your ticket includes a lavish buffet of traditional Hawaiian foods including kulua pig, lomi lomi salmon, haupi etc. plus an open bar.
1251 Front Street, Phone (808) 667-1998.

If you are looking for a visual marvel in the Polynesian-style with fire dancing, then the Hyatt's luau is the best show to see.

Aloha Mixed Plate
A deck setting with a great Mai Tai happy hour, this sibling restaurant to the Old Lahaina Luau dishes up an ono plate lunch on styrofoam plates.
1285 Front St., Lahaina, Phone 808-661-3322.

Lahaina's Asian Restaurants

Kobe Japanese Steak House & Oku's Sushi Bar
Off the beaten path of Front Street, delight in traditional Teppanyaki cooking and the popular sushi bar. For the singer in you, karaoke is offered late nights on Friday and Saturday.
136 Dickenson Street, Phone (808) 667-5555.

Lahaina's French Restaurants

Chez Paul
While not quite in Lahaina, its close—south on Honoapiilani Highway (HWY 30), in Olowalu. True French dining in a cozy dining room. I go for the lobster bisque, duck and crème brulee.
Phone (808) 661-3843.

Lahaina's Italian Restaurants

Longhi's
Fresh homemade pastas. Known for their verbal menu and Maui staying power.
888 Front Street, Phone (808) 667-2288

Lahaina's Seafood Restaurants

Lahaina Fish Company
Okay, it's not the best but its local and its mostly fresh fish and you're on the water. A Lahaina mainstay, so it's worth the visit.
831 Front Street, Phone (808) 661-3472

Kimo's
Everybody goes to Kimo's. And why not? It has the best selection of fresh fish in a multitude of preparations that you can choose from.
845 Front Street, Phone (808) 661-4811

Lahaina's Steak Restaurants

Ruth's Chris Steak House
A great chain restaurant that offers a predictable, delicious steak and string fries. Lobster too. Lahaina Center
900 Front Street, Phone (808) 661-8815

Lahaina Ice Cream

Lappert's Ice Cream
If the smell of waffle cone doesn't tempt you then I don't know what will.
693 Front Street, Phone (808) 661-8668

Cold Stone's
Once I got over the idea of mashing my ice cream around on the counter, it's a pretty addictive frozen treat.
900 Front Street, Phone (808) 667-2744

Lahaina's Bars & Dancing

Moose McGillycuddy's
Want to get rowdy? When the sailors come to town this is where they go. This is where the young crowd parties it up on a small dance floor, large bar and mediocre dining room. Lots of fun whether it's live music or a dj.
844 Front Street, Phone (808) 667-7758.

Paradice Bluz
Downstairs basement bar showcases a wide variety of local and visiting musicians from jazz, to blues, to reggae, to rock, to Hawaiian, to popular djs. Open late in the evening like a true club.
744 Front Street, Phone: 808-667- 5299.
